Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. (CIFC) proposes a new, 16 FTE complement Psychiatry Residency program at its FQHC, CIFC Health, named the CIFC Health Psychiatry Residency Program, located at 132 Main Street and 120 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810. CIFC is eligible for this funding as a Federally Qualified Health Center. The program will operate alone and not as part of a GME consortium. The CIFC Health Psychiatry Residency Program proposes a first class of four (4) PGY1 residents in the academic year (AY) July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024. The program will be at a full complement of 16 residents (4 per year over a 4 year training program) as of the academic year July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027, and CIFC requests funding for 16 FTE positions above the baseline AY 2018-2019 as of AY 2026-2027. CIFC is accredited as an institution with ACGME and has initiated its accreditation application for psychiatry. The new Psychiatry Residency Program will focus on serving adult, underserved patients living below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, as well as those facing other barriers to care, including those whose primary language is not English. The main outpatient primary care training locations will be at CIFC's locations at 132 Main and 120 Main Street, Danbury, CT. CIFC requests total funding for 16 FTE positions when the program is at full complement by 2026-2027 and 4 FTE positions for AY 2023-24 at $640,000. At full complement, the funding request for this program totals $2,560,000 annually, or a cumulative total of $6,400,000 over the 7/1/23 - 6/30/27 funding period, as the program will add a class of 4 residents every year during the grant period.
