The Coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Providing educational presentations, workshops or seminars or other presentations of data; Providing training on the judicial systems, school policies and cultural competence; Providing support by creating opportunities to support people to participate in activities that reduce risk or enhance protection; Enhancing access/reducing barriers by improving systems and processes to increase the ease, ability and opportunity to utilize those systems (i.e., Justice step by step; Information in Spanish); Changing consequences by increasing or decreasing the probability of a specific behavior that reduces risk or enhances protection by altering the consequences for performing that behavior (i.e., increase diversion participants, recognize numbers of stakeholder groups that alter behaviors via APP and conventional methods); Changing the physical design or structure of the environment to reduce risk by identifying campus drinking in dorms or around campuses and enhance protection - signage, lighting; and Making formal change in written procedures (i.e., proclamations, citation rules (written documentation within government, communities and campus organizations).
