The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Train youth from the target populations to conduct assessments of off-sale alcohol retail outlets in five business corridors to determine baseline compliance with existing Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Retail Operating Standards; conduct annual reassessments and combine with overlapping crime mapping to encourage compliance; provide ATOD education to the target populations; maintain advocacy by partnering in law enforcement, business, City Council, media, residents, schools and other sectors for stricter enforcement and/or new legislation to reduce youth access to alcohol; engage target population youth and parents in ongoing campaigns - Parents A Powerful Tool to Prevent Underage Drinking, Hands Off Holidays, Live2Graduate, Social Host Ordinance, Healthy Retailer Designation Program -to further reduce alcohol access and availability.
