The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Build member knowledge, capacity, and communication; monitor and increase enforcement of local and state policies/laws for alcohol, tobacco and marijuana; Implement and evaluate Alameda County's Alcohol Beverage Sales Regulation Ordinance through conducting a crime data analysis; Monitor new applications for alcohol establishments in community; support new tobacco retailer license ordinance (TRL) for unincorporated Alameda County; conduct social marketing campaign to increase awareness of marijuana harm among youth and adults; plan, develop, and implement environmental prevention strategies and activities to reduce youth access to prescription and over the counter drugs and misuse by adults; and plan and organize for adoption of public health element in County's General Plan for Ashland and Cherryland.
