The Coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: provide ongoing meeting time, space and coordination of members as well as oversight to ensure that the coalition project plan is being executed; provide ongoing training to coalition members, youth and adult community members on environmental prevention, community mobilization, and leadership; reduce media that supports a pro-use message and increase media messages that support parent, adult, and merchant responsibility; reduce the acceptance of underage drinking, binge drinking, marijuana use and tobacco use; change adult attitudes around supplying alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco to youth; increase awareness and compliance with existing laws; create policies that will lead to a reduction of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana access and use; and decrease commercial and social access to underage youth.
