The Coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: strengthen the coalition and collaboration; facilitate shared leadership; develop future leaders; increase cultural competence and build sustainability; enhance access to prevention education; enhance barriers to access to alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs; change consequences for those who provide alcohol to youth; change consequences regarding school participation guidelines and responsible vendor violations; promote policies to reduce youth access to alcohol; promote community and parent awareness of the dangers of youth alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug use; and enhance skills of youth to resist drugs and serve as a positive peer role model for making healthy choices.
