The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: expand and enhance the membership of the coalition ; enhance the leadership skills of the Steering Committee and Action Committees; conduct community outreach to increase visibility of Coalition and awareness of problem, including increase perception of risk or harm, increase perception of peer disapproval of use, decrease past 30-day use, and increase perception of parental disapproval of use; change policies and practices to prevent and reduce youth drug use ; and decrease access and availability of alcohol and marijuana to youth.
