The Coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Will work with youth to plan and implement a broad media campaign focused on risks of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs; work with schools and other partners to provide prevention education, media literacy education, and support groups at schools and at the Arbor Youth Resource Center. As part of this effort, coalition members will work with alternative high schools to support safe and sober graduation events and will advocate with school administrators to adopt a policy requiring youth who commit alcohol or drug infractions on school grounds to participate in prevention education groups as an alternative to suspension from school.
