The purpose of LCS' PRIDE Project is to promote targeted substance abuse and HIV prevention messages to Latino and African American youth (13-18) and young adult (19-29) MSM. Its goals are to: decrease prejudice and discrimination by giving youth and young adult MSM of color the opportunity to share their stories online; and allow for positive interaction between youth and young adult MSM of color with others in their community, and encourage healthy behavior. To do this, the PRIDE Project will form YMSM and YAMSM Advisory Groups with volunteer peer mentors/coaches to create and disseminate six HIV and substance abuse prevention awareness campaigns and messages for six HIV awareness days targeting youth and young adult MSM using new media platforms.
