The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies:Expand community understanding of and engagement in the work of PMP through monthly meetings, sub-committees, website/social media and events targeted to increase awareness of the dangers of methamphetamine use; Increase community collaboration through developing partnerships with emergency departments and poison control centers; Increase policymakers' knowledge of the dangers of marijuana use on youth and communities through education; Increase awareness of the dangers of synthetic drug use on communities and youth through education for elected officials; Increase awareness of dangers and negative effects of meth use to youth and parents through educational opportunities; Increase awareness of dangers and negative effects of marijuana use to youth, parents, and community through educational presentations; Increase understanding of dangers associated with marijuana use (even if "prescribed by a doctor") by youth and parents through a comprehensive marijuana use media campaign on marijuana use with input from local youth; and increase awareness of dangers and negative effects of synthetic drug use to youth, parents, and community through educational presentations.
