The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Hire Coalition Coordinator and update procedures for the coalition; update coalition leadership positions and workgroups; provide capacity building through training and technical assistance in strategic planning, logic models, environmental strategies, collaboration, and youth development for 30 coalition members and partners; increase community outreach and coalition participation from all sectors; increase youth participation in coalition meetings and activities; use technology and social media and technology to establish coalition's online presence and communication; increase community collaboration and participation by engaging with community about the Coalition's activities and events through technology, media, presentations and meetings at local events (as measured by at least 30 people signing up for or attending coalition activities and events); increase involvement of elected officials & key opinion leaders by providing quarterly updates on Coalition's objectives and activities; implement the Strategic Prevention Framework (Includes strategies: Provide information, Enhance skills, Provide support, and Enhance access/reduce barriers; review, modify and enforce school policies for alcohol and drug use and expand substance abuse intervention for student offenders (Measured by policy changes, and peer and parental disapproval of alcohol use through CHKS 2013-14 ); and change youth, parent, and community norms around acceptance of alcohol use through a social norm marketing campaign and parent trainings to increase youth perception of harm (and more)
