The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: Create a media campaign and host town halls to increase parent and cornmunity awareness of youth substance abuse problems, possible solutions, value of collaborative approach to solutions; organize youth led prevention projects; reduce youth access to Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, Prescription Drugs and OTC by advocating for Social Host ordinances, Responsible Beverage Sales and Service ordinance, pot shop bans, change in business practices; decrease exposure to secondhand smoke by advocating for smokefree public spaces, outdoor dining, and multi unit housing; and reduce access to drug paraphernalia and drug related merchandise through a change in vendor and business policies.
