San Dieguito Alliance for Drug Free Youth Coalition STOP Grant Proposal will reduce the (1) rate of past 30 day use, (2) youth perception of risk and harm, (3) perception of parental disapproval, (4) attitude toward peer use. The following Goals, Objectives and Activities will guide the Coalition's efforts: Goal 1. Change the youth, parent and community norm regarding the acceptability and inevitability of underage drinking. Objective 1. Change youth norm - Engage youth in prevention activities and increase the youth oriented messaging re: problems associated with underage alcohol consumption. Objective 2. Change the parent norm - Increase the number of Town Halls in the region to eight. Objective 3. Change the community norm - Reduce the messaging that promotes and glamorizes alcohol use, or co opt cultural or ethnic holidays or practices. Goal 2. Implement environmental population based prevention policies and practices that will prevent or reduce underage alcohol use. Objective 4: Increase support for and enforcement of Social Host ordinances utilizing partnerships with law enforcement to reduce social venues that provide or enable underage alcohol use. Objective 5. Encourage the adoption of Responsible Beverage Sales and Service ordinance utilizing city code and law enforcement activities to reduce underage alcohol access through retail venues and Alcohol Beverage Control trainings for alcohol licensees managers and staff.
