The goals of the Coalition are: (1) establish and strengthen collaboration among The Healthy, Safe, Drug-Free Schools and Communities Coalition's partner organizations in support of the community's effort to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth; and (2) reduce substance abuse among youth in Kent County, MI, and, over time, reduce substance abuse among adults by addressing the issues in our community that increase the risk of substance abuse and promoting the factors that minimize the risk of substance abuse. The Healthy, Safe, Drug-Free Schools and Communities Coalition services Kent County, MI, an urban area with a population of 600,000.
