The Mat-Su Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition services Matanuska-Susitna Borough, AK, a rural area with a population of 82,515. The Coalition will achieve the DFC goals by implementing these strategies: (1) Build capacity for enhanced communication and interaction between youth and adults; (2) Expand opportunities for youth leadership and empower youth to participate in leadership roles; (3) Increase the use of media to promote positive youth, business, and community recognition; (4) Implement a positive social marketing/public engagement campaign to change community attitudes, perceptions, and responses to substance use; and (5) Design and conduct "Mat-Su Loves You Campaign."
