Gwinnett County Drug Free Communities Coalition - The coalition will prevent and reduce youth substance use by implementing the following strategies: 1) The Gwinnett Coalition increases the capacity of the community to address local issues and concerns by collecting and analyzing relevant local data. 2) The Gwinnett Coalition recruits new member and provides leadership opportunities. 3) The Gwinnett Coalition's members are involved in our strategic plan for children and families. 4) Coalition members implement strategies and they are monitoring and evaluated for success. 5) Resources and partnerships to sustain successful strategic actions are pursued and nutured. 6) Strategies are implemented to reduce 30 day alcohol use through reduction of commercial, and social access. 7) Strategies are implemented to reduce percentage of high school youth who report prescription drug use is easy. 8) Implement peer to peer strategies that decrease marijuana use in Gwinnett County. 9) Educate the public, community leaders and elected officials about the negative community and behavioral health consequences related to passage of medical marijuana laws. 10) Encourage city councils to pass tobacco free parks ordinances.
