The proposed project capitalizes on two key strengths in our community (i.e., the strong youth- serving agencies and the networks and partnerships that exist between them) to address a service gap: support, early identification, and resource and referral to help adolescents (age 12-18) who are experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or who are in crisis. There is no known YMHFA or MHFA training, or similar, available in the Lowell region. This project is a partnership of LPS, Lowell Police Department, Wayside Youth and Family Support Network, Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Project LEARN, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell, Bridgewell, Community Teamwork, the International Institute, Lowell Community Health Center, Lowell General Hospital, Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School, the City of Lowell Health Department, and the United Teen Equality Center.
