Oregon Health Reform Education Network - The Mental Health America of Oregon's (MHAO) Oregon Health Reform Education Network (OHREN) will develop a peer network that works to (1) influence health reform policy and maximize enrollment of peers in expanded health insurance options and utilization by peers of new integrated healthcare programs, (2) increase the number of Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) Training Programs and the number of PWS'; and (3) include participants of diverse backgrounds in the programs, including young adults with military involvement. MHAO will use a variety of approaches to accomplish the goals of the OHREN project, including the development of Peer Health Reform Leaders; development, field-testing and implementation of the PWS training program; collaboration with other peer programs in the state, veterans and military agencies, and with academic institutions to name a few; and targeted outreach and engagement with young adults. Through this project over the three-year period, the organization expects to provide direct outreach and enrollment assistance to 5,000 peers, outreach and education assistance regarding coordinated care organizations to 50 stakeholder groups, certification of 75 Peer Wellness Specialists, and PWS support to 1,250 peers, among other targets.
