The Mental Health Center of Denver will lead a consortium of community and government agencies to implement the Gang Reduction Initiative of Denver-Trauma Treatment (GRID-TTP) project in Denver, CO. The GRID-TTP project will target youth ages 11 to 17, primarily African American and Latino, who are gang involved or at risk of gang involvement and who reside in three Northeast Denver neighborhoods with high rates of community, domestic and gang-related violence. The purpose of GRID-TTP is to improve resiliency and reduce the impact of traumatic stress among gang-involved and high risk youth in Denver's communities of color by increasing access to evidence-based trauma interventions and integrating these services into a comprehensive community-based gang intervention initiative. The project will deliver two interventions: Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress.
