Hypertension Scientific Sessions 2025 - SUMMARY This proposal requests support for Travel and Caregiver Awards for anyone attending and presenting their work at the annual 2025 Hypertension Scientific Sessions (HTSS) to be held on September 3–7, 2025, at the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront Hotel, Baltimore, MD. HTSS is organized by two Councils of the American Heart Association (AHA), the Council on Hypertension (COH) and the Kidney in Cardiovascular Disease (KCVD) Council. This meeting is considered one of the most important and prestigious meetings focused on hypertension research and clinical practice, and draws experts in the fields of hypertension, cardiovascular and kidney diseases, stroke, obesity, metabolic disease and genetics, from around the world. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with cross-disciplinary researchers to foster collaborations and networking. Since hypertension is the major risk factor for development of cardiovascular disease, morbidity and mortality, this meeting ideally fits the mission of NHLBI. The Specific Aims of the 2025 Hypertension Scientific Sessions are: 1) To provide attendees with a forum to present their research and obtain constructive feedback from a knowledgeable international audience of scientists working in the field of hypertension; 2) To encourage attendees to enhance their knowledge by attending cutting-edge symposia and lectures organized by the HTSS Planning Committees; 3) To offer attendees an opportunity to network with their peers in the field of hypertension via abstract-driven poster and short talk oral sessions, which are always well attended and provide a unique opportunity to personally communicate their scientific discoveries to leaders in the field. The manageable size of the HTSS (811 attendees in 2024) promotes networking among scientists of all levels and disciplines. We believe support for these sessions is of superior value to the scientific community as a whole and has strong relevance to the NHLBI mission.
