Trajectories to Heart Failure: Immunometabolic Mechanisms - ABSTRACT Support is requested for a Keystone Symposia conference entitled Trajectories to Heart Failure: Immunometabolic Mechanisms, organized by Drs. Joseph A. Hill, Geneviève Derumeaux, Chiara Giannarelli and Gabriele G. Schiattarella, with scientific programming input from Keystone Symposia. The meeting will take place at Keystone Resort, Keystone, Colorado USA from February 10–13, 2025. Metabolic alterations and inflammatory abnormalities are key contributors to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Recent evidence shows that a chronic low-grade inflammatory response of metabolic origin, termed “metainflammation,” is a defining feature of various cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure and atherosclerosis. This pioneering international conference will bring together leading investigators in the areas of cardiac biology, immunity, vascular inflammation and obesity-induced cardiovascular disease to elucidate immunometabolic mechanisms in the trajectory to heart failure. For this reason, the conference will be held jointly with another Keystone Symposium conference entitled Immunometabolism in Tissue Homeostasis and Diseases. The program focus will span basic research through translational research and clinical insights, which will expose attendees to a broad perspective on the important links between immune cell metabolism and cardiovascular disease pathology. Ultimately, this meeting will support new collaborations that will contribute significantly to understanding the immunometabolic underpinnings of cardiovascular disease and potentially pave the way for innovative approaches in addressing cardiovascular health challenges.
