Developmental Biology of the Sea Urchin and Other Marine Invertebrates XXVIII (DBSUMI) - Project Summary In April of 2025, an international community of scientists who use marine invertebrate model organisms for reproductive, developmental, and regenerative biology will convene for the 28th Developmental Biology of the Sea Urchin and other Marine Invertebrates (DBSUMI) meeting at the Marine Biological Laboratories in Woods Hole, MA. Work in marine invertebrates has led to many important scientific advances, and this conference will provide an essential forum for interactions across a broad community of investigators working with diverse organisms. While originally conceived as the “Sea Urchin Meeting”, our meeting now comprises individuals working with echinoderms, hemichordates, ascidians, mollusks, annelids, cnidarians, and more. We are requesting funds to support DBSUMI in the following ways: 1) to support event space costs and A/V support, and 2) to provide need-based reduced registration fees to trainees.
