Neurobiology of Appetite Control - Abstract Support is requested for a Keystone Symposia conference entitled Neurobiology of Appetite Control organized by Drs. Michael J. Krashes, Amber L. Alhadeff, Sung-Yon Kim and Alice E. Adriaenssens, with scientific programming input from Keystone Symposia. The meeting will take place January 18–21, 2027 at the Keystone Resort, Keystone, CO, United States. Appetite regulation is a fundamental neurobiological process with far-reaching implications for public health, particularly in the context of obesity, eating disorders, and metabolic diseases. Targeting pathways involved in appetite regulation has resulted in highly effective new drug modalities that are revolutionizing health care for relevant diseases. Despite rapidly advancing research in neuroscience and metabolism, critical gaps remain in our understanding of how complex neuronal circuits integrate internal states and external cues to control feeding behavior. The primary goal of this Keystone Symposia conference on Neurobiology of Appetite Control is to advance understanding of the neural mechanisms that govern appetite by promoting innovative research, cross- disciplinary collaboration, translational insight and industrial innovation. The conference will challenge traditional models of homeostatic control by highlighting emerging evidence of dynamic, context-dependent neural modulation and will spotlight the expanding role of biotechnology and pharmaceutical initiatives in developing diagnostics, therapeutics, and digital tools for treating obesity and metabolic disorders. The conference is designed to convene participants from across disciplines, including systems and behavioral neuroscientists, endocrinologists, computational modelers, clinical researchers, biotech innovators and industry leaders. Held jointly with the Keystone Symposia conference, Sensory Systems: Interoception and Exteroception, this conference will showcase groundbreaking research from both basic and translational science focused on the intersection of neurobiology and physiology of feeding behavior. By bridging these distinct fields, the meeting will foster lasting collaborations, joint academic–industrial projects and a holistic understanding of appetite regulation that will accelerate the translation of fundamental insights into effective clinical interventions. Through shared keynote and joint scientific sessions, meals and poster sessions, participants will have an opportunity to network and share cross-disciplinary insights, encouraging innovative discussions that will advance metabolic research toward greater clinical impact.
