Obesity and Adipose Tissue - ABSTRACT Support is requested for a Keystone Symposia conference entitled Obesity and Adipose Tissue, organized by Drs. Paul Cohen, Ruth J.F. Loos, Claudio J. Villanueva and Christian Wolfrum, with scientific programming input from Keystone Symposia. The meeting will take place February 23–26, 2025 at Fairmont Banff Springs, Banff, Alberta, Canada. Obesity is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes, metabolic-associated fatty liver disease, cardiovascular disease, and many types of cancer. Collectively, these associated diseases are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. This conference will highlight advances in the biology of adipose tissue and the pathophysiology of obesity, which will be essential in addressing this major threat to human health. The conference program will bring together researchers from academia and industry to focus on obesity and adipose tissue. This meeting has been designed to encourage cross-disciplinary insights and collaborations towards understanding underlying mechanisms of how obesity leads to liver disease. Accordingly, it has been paired with another Keystone Symposia conference, MASH Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Approaches, to support new collaborations geared toward understanding the important intersections of obesity and metabolic diseases.
