17th International Conference on Endothelin: Physiology, Pathophysiology and Therapeutics - 17th International Conference on Endothelin: Physiology, Pathophysiology and
Therapeutics
Project Summary/Abstract
The purpose of this proposal is to seek support for the virtual APS Conference entitled “17th
International Conference on Endothelin: Physiology, Pathophysiology and Therapeutics”
scheduled for October 4-7, 2021. The objective of this conference is to review current basic,
translation and clinical research on the importance the endothelin system in health and disease.
The conference will bring together internationally renowned scientists working in the endothelin
field, as well as related interdisciplinary fields, to exchange and disseminate research findings.
This meeting was last held in 2019 in Kobe, Japan and some major clinical advances have been
made in the last 2 years. The program will be organized into four distinct modules in endothelin
research: renal and cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology, novel regulatory pathways,
neurology and pain, cancer and immunology. There will be invited talks by early stage and senior
investigators that will be intermingled with abstract selected presentations from all career stages.
There will also be two poster session which will have “on call times” for presenters to give their 3
min poster presentation followed by a Q&A period. Moreover, there are virtual breakout rooms to
promote in-depth discussions among trainees, young scientists and established investigators.
The conference will bring together internationally renowned scientists to exchange ideas, develop
scientific relationships, and promote collaboration in a virtual platform. The meeting will have a
strong emphasis on trainee involvement.
