ABSTRACT Although much progress has been made with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine, some communities continue to lag in HPV vaccination rates. HPV vaccination is lowest among Hispanic/Latinos/Latinas(H/Lx), Asian adolescent boys and H/Lx adolescent girls of non-US-born parents, adolescents of African immigrant and of Latino indigenous parents. Our research thus far has shown low health literacy on HPV related factors, vaccine misconceptions, hesitancy in vaccinations, and vaccine noncompletion rates. Though HPV is not gender- specific, the feminization of HPV with a focus on cervical cancer has been impacted by its sexual transmissibility; and this in turn has influenced the acceptance of HPV related information and its application among boys and men. There is little information available on other HPV related cancers beyond cervical, and culturally tailored, age appropriate -young adults and adolescent in language materials- designed for these groups. The USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center (USC NCCC) proposes to extend and build upon our current work on Track 1 (Adolescents and Young Adults 10-30 Years) with a focus on our multi-channel communication campaigns on HPV cancers common in these groups and the associated behaviors exacerbating risks. We will be implementing campaign strategies that include aspects of peer-to-peer promotion and the promotion via social media and use of Artificial Intelligence to craft and adapt educational materials developed to tailor for these specific audiences. We plan on obtaining qualitative data to improve and tailor our outreach materials and disseminate the information via outdoor media, social media, short vignettes and video clips. Specifically, we will be targeting communication and social networking platforms that adolescents and young adults frequent, including YouTube, Instagram (IG) and IG Live, Snapchat, Facebook, and Television, among others. Efforts will use AI to accelerate and create translations in multiple languages of materials, to develop signage and messages for outdoor and social media that can be rated and assessed for use among adolescents and young adults and disseminated widely. We have active partnerships with colleges and universities, federally qualified health centers, and a variety of youth and young adult oriented programs, including 7 local FQHC clinics, including AltaMed, the Chinatown Service Center (CSC), Barrio Action Network.
