Ryan White Title III HIV Capacity Development and Planning Grants - The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSM) Ryan White Part C program is seeking supplemental funding to integrate a comprehensive, evidence-based screening tool for intimate partner violence (IPV) with active counseling and warm referrals for patients at our Women’s HIV Clinic. This initiative aligns with the HIV Care Innovation category under the NOFO’s IPV Services activity and is designed to enhance health outcomes, improve retention in HIV care, and support survivors of IPV. To meet the program’s requirements and expectations, we will develop and implement the CUES intervention (Confidentiality, Universal Education, Empowerment, Support)—an evidence-based, trauma-informed model tailored for healthcare settings. CUES has been shown to improve health and safety outcomes for IPV survivors by ensuring that all patients receive universal education about IPV and have access to confidential, supportive conversations with trained providers. By embedding this intervention within our existing Ryan White Part C HIV care framework, we will create a sustainable, survivor-centered model that strengthens both HIV treatment engagement and IPV support services.
