ICESAHT's Sexual Violence Prevention Capacity Building Program - In Indiana, sexual violence is a serious social justice and public health issue for women, children, men, and marginalized communities throughout the state. The Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault [d/b/a Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT)] seeks funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to increase internal and community partner sexual violence (SV) prevention and intervention through four strategies: 1) Build infrastructure for SV prevention, 2) Collaborate with the Indiana Department of Health to enhance the State Action Plan (SAP), 3) Implement SV prevention approaches, 4) Use data to inform action. Following these strategies, ICESAHT will implement three prevention programs These programs include the Speak Up Speak Out Program (SUSOP), that engages college men as allies to SV prevention; StepIn, a social media and email marketing bystander intervention awareness campaign; and the Indiana State Campus Consortium (ISCC), a training and technical assistance group for Indiana college/university and community prevention professionals. ICESAHT’s programs will produce short and intermediate term outcomes over the next four years. However, some outcomes come with significant barriers. All these efforts will be measured in a comprehensive evaluation and monitoring plan that will provide valuable insights into the impact and effectiveness of the program's initiatives, helping to inform future programming, advocacy, and resource allocation decisions.
