Enhancing DCCESV Capacity for Sexual Violence Prevention - The reduction of sexual violence takes both community and societal level prevention approaches to create lasting change. DC Coalition to End Sexual Violence (DCCESV) proposes programming efforts that will increase the reach and impact of prevention strategies and advance health equity by reducing disparities and increasing the use of data-driven decision making to directly impact populations and communities with disproportionately high rates of sexual violence. The goal is for DC’s communities to increase their use of sexual violence prevention strategies and to foster a meaningful engagement among DCCSEV and the DC Department of Health to develop the State Action Plan. DCCSEV will enhance their training and technical assistance (TTA) to other local organizations to strengthen sexual violence primary prevention programming. DCCESV will increase capacity-building of other youth-serving professionals and institutions to adopt and implement positive youth development approaches to their work. TTA allows for a greater reach to incorporate prevention philosophies into existing youth development programming. Further, DCCESV is partnering with Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) to provide expert training engaging boys and young men in sexual violence prevention. DCCSEV will also deploy awareness and outreach campaigns to address health disparities and advance health equity. In Year One of this project, DCCSEV will provide best practice- driven, culturally relevant programs and services. Major activities include: - 4 workshops, trainings, and webinars focused on engaging boys and young men in sexual violence prevention through healthy masculinity, consent, bystander intervention, and awareness raising - 2 Peer-to-Peer technical assistance activities - 4 tailored primary prevention resources - 2 co-hosted, co-located awareness and outreach events - 2 city-level advocacy initiatives - Four quarterly Coalition meetings to support project deliverables and share and receive feedback with members - Distribution of consent campaign materials to 5 DCPS middle/high schools and all 8 DC universities Opportunities for Measurement and Expansion Consulting Partners, LLC (OM&E) will lead the evaluation and performance measurement plan, in collaboration with DCCSEV and the DC Department of Health. With decades of program evaluation expertise, OM&E strives to build internal capacity within community programs, with an emphasis on the latest technologies and analysis methods to efficiently report on outcomes.
