Decrease sexual violence and reduce disparities by addressing inequities as well as increase protective factors. - Project Abstract ACAR works to improve the treatment of and services to sexual assault victims, increase public awareness of sexual assault, and to improve the investigation and prosecution of sexual assault. Exposure to violence is greatly associated with communities who are physically, socially, and economically deprived. This project will focus on advancing health equity by implementing a data-driven approach to expand our primary prevention capacity. Building on our decades-long collaborations with stakeholders, including the Alabama Department of Public Health and our storied history as primary prevention providers, we will implement the strategies that will address those disparities, address the needs of the communities, and promote health equity in those deprived communities. This NOFO affords the opportunity for ACAR to: 1. Implement equity-focused sexual violence primary prevention strategies. 2. Develop recommendations based on assessment findings to promote health equity and advance primary prevention. 3. Enhance expertise in primary prevention and health inequities. 4. Increase use of data to inform programmatic decisions. 5. Enhance and maintain partnerships that increase the Coalition’s ability to address the needs of populations. 6. Improve health outcomes for individuals, communities, and communities in the population(s) and communities of greatest need most affected by sexual violence.
