Rape Prevention and Education: Enhancing Capacity for Sexual Violence Prevention Across State and Territory Sexual Assault Coalitions - The Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ACASA) plans to implement multiple strategies for sexual violence prevention. The first strategy involves building infrastructure for sexual violence prevention, including developing internal program capacity, providing education, support, and training to staff, and creating and participating in shared trainings and workshops with the State Health Department. The second strategy involves collaborating with the State Health Department to enhance the State Action Plan for sexual violence prevention that addresses social and structural determinants of health to achieve health equity. Together we will form a State Sexual Violence Prevention Planning Committee, conduct a needs and resource assessment, and leverage partnerships and resources to assist with program selection, implementation, and evaluation. Through this process, ACASA and its partners will strive to ensure that all voices are heard and valued. The third strategy involves implementing sexual violence prevention approaches that align with the State Plan. Depending on what the data shows during the SAP process, possible approaches may be modifying physical environments, implementing the Coaching Boys Into Men program, supporting the NO MORE campaign, and working with Partners for Inclusive Communities to prevent sexual violence in the disability community. ACASA recognizes the importance of considering social determinants of health, such as race and gender, in all prevention efforts. Finally, ACASA will collaborate with the SHD to gather and analyze publicly available data on social determinants of health and sexual violence indicators. The data will be used to identify disparities and patterns related to SDOH factors and SV rates. The information will be used to inform the selection of SV prevention strategies that address specific SDOH-related risk factors. Progress will be tracked over time by monitoring changes in key indicators and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
