Provide 5-year support, education, and program implementation to reduce sexual violence in Wyoming by focusing on social determinants of health and health equity. - The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH), through a strong partnership with the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (WCADVSA), will carry out the strategies and activities of the Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) Program as outlined in the CDC-RFA-CE-24-0027 Notice of Funding Opportunity. The RPE Program will work with local non-profits, non-government organizations, and other key stakeholders to carry out strategies that strengthen economic support by educating new parents enrolled in higher education on the social supports available to assist them in finishing their educational aspirations. By working with Community Colleges, the WCADVSA will improve organizational environments. Additionally, to promote social norms that protect against domestic violence, the WCADVSA will continue to lead the Coaching Boys Into Men and Athletes as Leader training in Wyoming. The focus area strategies will utilize evidence-based programs selected with the E4 Framework, emphasizing health equity. Focusing on reducing negative social determinants of health that pose a significant risk of perpetration or victimization of sexual violence. The Wyoming RPE Program will continue to contract with an evaluator to inform sexual violence prevention and track disparities in targeted social determinants of health and rates of sexual violence in Wyoming. This support will assist WDH and WCADVSA in selecting priority populations, and appropriate interventions to improve programmatic activities. Further, this funding will support the WCADVSA to provide ongoing technical advice on sexual violence state-wide, as well as increase internal capacity and infrastructure. The RPE Program responsibility has transitioned to the Wyoming Injury and Violence Prevention Program (WIVPP) at the WDH, this funding opportunity will support WIVPP to build capacity and understanding of sexual violence data, risks, and best practices.
