Rape Prevention and Education: Assessing Coalition Capacity to Advance Primary Prevention - Rape Prevention Education: Assessing Coalition Capacity to Advance Primary Prevention Project Abstract Summary Groups Involved: The Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCEDSV). MCEDSV has been a leader in comprehensive national domestic, sexual, and dating violence prevention efforts. Primary Objective: This application was developed with the intent of understanding and increasing current prevention capacity across MCEDSV, key stakeholders, and partners. This will be accomplished by implementing a Primary Prevention Capacity Assessment (PPCA) to determine the current capacity to enhance and expand primary prevention and health equity work. Based on the capacity assessment findings, MCEDSV will develop recommendations and action steps to lay the groundwork and further advance SV primary prevention activities that address health inequities. Primary Activities: • Complete a Primary Prevention Capacity Assessment (PPCA) • Develop and Disseminate Recommendations based on PPCA • Build capacity within Statewide Prevention Leadership Team/Key Stakeholders and Board of Directors to incorporate principles of primary prevention • Continue Activism Conservatory Cohort • Create UMOJA Workgroup • Complete Capacity Building Training to Activism Conservatory • Hold Activism Conservatory Annual Prevention Summit • Provide technical assistance, trainings, lessons learned, and community of practice for RPE Leadership and/or regional preventionists • Participate in e-learning collaboratives on sexual violence prevention and evaluation, facilitated by a CDC-funded Technical Assistance Provider(s) • Participate in sexual violence prevention and evaluation training, technical assistance, and resources provided in-person or virtually by the CDC-funded National Technical Assistance Resource Center for the Prevention of Sexual Violence. Reach: This project is statewide in scope and will have a statewide reach and impact.
