CDC Grant to State Sexual Assault Coalitions (Massachusetts) for Rape Prevention and Education Primary Prevention Capacity Assessment - The Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, Jane Doe Inc. (JDI) will conduct an assessment of the organization’s capacity to engage in equity-focused prevention work. The purpose of this assessment is to increase understanding of JDI’s capacity to engage in equity-focused prevention work to address health inequity in Massachusetts. Assessment activities will include staff interviews and focus, document reviews, and partner interviews and surveys. The assessment will result in a series of recommendations to increase JDI’s capacity toward specific focus areas for health equity work, inclusive of JDI's framework at the intersections of gender based violence and racial equity.. The assessment will be conducted using a variety of methods, including interviews, focus groups, surveys, and document and policy reviews. This assessment will achieve the following six outcomes: 1) increase understanding of staff expertise and available resources; 2) increase understanding of current partnerships, and how these partnerships are/are not meeting the current and future primary prevention and health equity work needs; 3) increase understanding of current technical assistance provision and how well it incorporates health equity; 4) increase understanding of available data sources used to identify population(s) and communities of focus; 5) increase understanding of the organizational and public policy and systems efforts that facilitate or hinder implementation of health equity-oriented prevention work; and 6) increase understanding of the cultural factors at the organizational and systems levels that facilitate or hinder implementation of health equity-oriented prevention work.
