Nevada Sexual Violence Prevention Activities - Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health Rape Prevention and Education Program Funding Opportunity Number: CDC-RFA-CE19-1902 Nevada Project Abstract Summary The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Office of Financial Resources, receives funding designed to prevent rape and all forms of sexual violence, and support critical activities at the state and local level. Through the Sexual Violence Prevention and Education (RPE) Grant, Nevada is able to implement programs increasing awareness and education to support the prevention of sexual assault using the public health approach. The Division of Public and Behavioral Health proposes use of grant opportunity CDC-RFA-CE19-1902 funds to implement and expand RPE primary prevention and evaluation activities to increase community and societal-level changes shown to reduce sexual violence. Goals for the five year project period will expand sexual violence prevention programs focusing on increasing the use of community strategies, promoting social norms to reduce risk of sexual violence, providing opportunities to empower and support girls and women, and creating protective environments through increased partnerships. The Nevada RPE Program will develop a State Action Plan and State Evaluation Plan to increase data-driven decision making to ensure program deliverables are being met via evidence-based and informed strategies. The RPE Program will work in partnership with numerous subawardees to meet grant deliverables and track measurable outcomes in sexual violence prevention. Partners include the Rape Crisis Center, Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, university and community entities in sexual violence prevention efforts.
