Next Move Community Lead Reduction Program - Next Move is a nonprofit organization based in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. According to the U.S Census, over 75% of homes in Illinois built before 1978 contain lead-based paint. Furthermore, the Illinois Lead Program 2020 Annual Surveillance Report states that “approximately 63.5% of the 5.3 million Illinois housing units were built before the 1978 residential lead paint ban”. As part of the Lead Reduction program, our organization proposes to expand current lead exposure, prevention and education services. Program activities will include social media campaigns, community engagement, lead prevention workshops and establishing new cross-sector partnerships. We expect to increase awareness, and access to resources and services through this program.
