Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Cooperative Agreement - Project Abstract: Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Disease Control Cooperative Agreement for Public Health Emergency Preparedness: CDC-RFA-TU24-0137 The Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, hereby submits our cooperative agreement application, in support of FOA # CDC-RFA-TU24-0137. Although this is a continuation of funds intended to strengthen the capacity and capability of public health systems to prepare, respond, and recover from threats and emergencies, the addition of the Response Readiness Framework (RRF) has added another layer of readiness for recipients to achieve over the five-year project period. This funding opportunity will enable us to better align the requirements of the RRF to program strategies, the CDC’s national preparedness capabilities, and NOFO Logic Model to enhance our operational priorities within the context of Health Equity for Whole of Community approach to emergency planning. This award application provides clear strategies, activities, and outcomes to save lives during emergencies that exceed the day-to-day capacity and capability of the public health emergency response systems. Funding will ensure that PHEP recipients continue to advance development of effective public health emergency management and response programs as outlined in the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities: National Standards for State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Public Health. Sincerely, William Jenkins, PHEP Director Maine CDC 286 Water Street Augusta, ME 04333
