Rhode Island Public Health Emergency Preparedness - Throughout the 2024-2029 project period, the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) will address and comply with the PHEP Logic Model’s strategies and 10 cross-cutting Response Ready Framework priorities to ensure that RIDOH and its partners have taken steps necessary to further achieve excellence in response operations. Building upon more than two decades of preparedness and response experience, RIDOH will maintain and continuously improve the strong relationships and programs established to demonstrate the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities: National Standards for State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Public Health (January 2019), and will further engage staff leading workforce development and data modernization, as well as those responsible for budgetary and administrative policy-setting, to ensure our jurisdictional health department is best positioned to serve those who live, work, learn, and play in Rhode Island during an emergency, with the ultimate goal of saving lives and preventing morbidity and mortality during emergencies of all sizes and scopes, including those that exceed the day-to-day capacity of RIDOH. With a cross-cutting look at health equity, and input from State, local, tribal, regional, and community-based partners, RIDOH will achieve substantial, measurable progress toward the deliverables for each of the 34 activities, including the 9 PHEP Benchmarks, and the 13 exercise requirements outlined in the NOFO. Wherever possible, RIDOH will implement evidence-based practices and will contribute to the building of the evidence base for public health preparedness and response with other jurisdictional, federal, and academic/research partners.
