Montana will use a syndemic approach to ensure there are resources available to implement any necessary Mpox response activities. The Montana Mpox work-group will bring together partners from the DPHHS Immunization Program, the STD Prevention Program, the HIV Prevention Program, the Ryan White Program, Epidemiology, and other partners to ensure Montana has the capacity to implement any needed response activities. DPHHS will contract with 6 agencies currently providing HIV Prevention services to provide resources to educate the populations most at risk for Mpox and increase access to Mpox information and vaccinations. An additional contract with the Montana Public Health institute will provide vaccine incentives to increase the number of people who are vaccinated in Montana. An advertising agency will be contracted with to develop and place target advertisements to bring awareness of Mpox to priority populations.
