RMI PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PROJECT - With this new funding, we will be able to be prepared to stand up emergency activities, surge staffing, activate our Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs), and conduct a needs assessment to determine the resources needed to address the specific or new public health crisis. We will be able to restore or bolster the capacity of existing programs that have been impacted by the public health crisis. This could include increasing resources, personnel, or infrastructure to manage the surge. Purpose: RMI Ministry of Health and Human Services’ (MOHHS) purpose is to focus on enhancing our ability to respond swiftly and effectively respond to significant Public Health Emergencies (PHEs), ensuring necessary support is available to address PHEs that could have harmful impacts on public health and safety. We will focus on the following: • Rapid Mobilization: Ensuring that when a PHE is identified, RMI MOHHS are ready and have an established Incident Command System (ICS) team, ready to respond quickly. • Resource Augmentation: Surge support to provide additional resources to help MOHHS deal with a significant increase in demand, whether that's due to rising case numbers, the need for expanded services, or other factors that strain the healthcare system. Acknowledging that certain public health events may exceed the capacity of our local resources including staff and supplies, necessitating external support. • Timeliness: Minimizing delays in providing critical services and resources to respond effectively to PHEs.
