The Public Health Crisis Response (PHCR) application for Nevada is for the purpose of quickly and efficiently mobilizing and preparing Nevada for as yet unknown emerging infectious disease threat that is determined to be a public health emergency by CDC. In this emerging disease threat scenario, Nevada will need to quickly evaluate, plan, and implement measures to counter the emerging disease and prepare to respond with activities that are outside of daily operations in an Incident Command System framework. This announcement provides clear expectations and priorities for Nevada to plan and prepare for within the first 120 days of the emerging disease threat being identified. This application identifies the key planning and public health response partners that Nevada would utilize to plan for the emerging disease and implement planning elements, public information, and response preparedness requirements to improve response to the emerging disease as well as reduce the morbidity and mortality within Nevada of the emerging disease.
In addition, this application identifies the needs of Component B of a crisis response considering budgetary needs of Nevada for 12 months of activities in response to an emerging disease.
