A workgroup will be created and maintained within the Department of Health consisting of staff from the Immunization Branch, Harm Reduction Services Branch, Disease Investigation Branch, Communicable Disease and Public Health Nursing Division, and the Office of Public Health Preparedness. The overall goal of the workgroup's planned activities is to increase vaccination rates in the State of Hawaii. Due to limited resources, focused effort will be to increase education and vaccine coverage in populations disproportionately affected by mpox. We will work with LGBTQ-focused media sources and participate in community forums to increase awareness, demand, and uptake of vaccination.
