Cooperative Agreement for Emergency Response: Public Health Crisis Response - 2018 - This funding is intended to establish, expand, train, and sustain the Wyoming public health workforce to support jurisdictional COVID-19 prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives, including school-based health programs. CDC expects public health agencies to use available funding to recruit, hire, and train personnel to address projected jurisdictional COVID-19 response needs over the performance period, including hiring personnel to build capacity to address Wyoming public health priorities deriving from COVID-19. Wyoming will provide 25% of the award to the Wyoming Department of Education. A Statement of Work based on the proposal submitted by WDE will be included in the contract to deliver behavioral and substance abuse services through a telehealth platform that specifically allows services to the most rural students in need. PHPR will provide a liaison between the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) and WDE to ensure clear expectations are communicated and provide technical assistance throughout the project period. WDH will provide 40% of the remainder to local and tribal public heath entities to increase staffing hours, and hire public health workforce. The remainder will be expended at the state level for grant management, compliance, training, staff retention, strategic planning analysis, and resilience analysis. WDH will meet cooperative agreement deliverables and deadlines for this opportunity.
