The Maine Department of Education is pleased to apply for the CDC Division of Adolescent and School Health Funding Opportunity Announcement CDC-RFA-PS18-1807 Component 1: School-Based Surveillance. This five-year cooperative agreement assures Maine will be able to continue administration of the School Health Profiles in 2020 and 2022 and the Youth Risk Behavior Survey in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
Maine’s goals for these surveillance activities is to obtain weighted data for all surveys as well as to increase understanding of youth risk behaviors and school health policies and practices by education and public health agencies. Weighted data is essential to measure progress in achieving adolescent health goals. It also provides the ability for in-depth analysis of risk behaviors and disparities.
