The Maine Department of Education is pleased to apply for the Division of Adolescent and School Health’s Funding Opportunity Announcement CDC-RFA-DP-24-0139 by implementing Component 3: School-Based Surveillance. With this five-year cooperative agreement, Maine will be able to continue administration of School Health Profiles in 2026, 2028, and 2030 and Youth Risk Behavior Survey in 2025, 2027, and 2029. Our goal for these surveillance activities is to obtain yearly weighted data, as well as to increase understanding of youth risk behaviors and school health policies and practices in education settings and public health agencies. Weighted data is essential to measure progress in achieving adolescent health goals. It also provides the ability for in-depth analysis of risk behaviors and disparities.
