Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) for HIV Prevention Programs to End the HIV Epidemic in the United StatesComponent D: Technical Assistance for High-Impact HIV Prevention Programs - The HIV epidemic is at a critical juncture. Progress toward achieving the 2019 Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) plan's 10-year goal of reducing transmissions by 90% has slowed and racial, ethnic, and geographical disparities in the new diagnoses persist. Scale-up and equitable rollout of effective bio-behavioral strategies such as targeted HIV testing, rapid initiation of antiretroviral therapy at HIV diagnosis, PrEP, and harm reduction approaches are needed to turn the curve as key social determinants of health and syndemics are addressed. As a decade-long member of the CDC-supported Capacity Building Assistance Provider Network (CPN), the San Francisco Department of Public Health's Center for Learning & Innovation will continue to provide tailored technical assistance to the interdisciplinary HIV prevention workforce at health departments, community-based organizations, and other HIV prevention partners- a workforce that has experienced unprecedented pressures over the last past several years. Our getSFcba program will use an equity-focused and trauma-informed approach to help strengthen organizational capacity to implement high impact HIV prevention and enable supportive structural environments that are needed to advance the goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy in reducing HIV infections, decreasing HIV-associated morbidity and mortality, and eliminating health disparities.
