Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) for HIV Prevention Programs to End the HIV Epidemic in the United States. - Building on almost 40 years of experience providing state-of-the-art training and technical assistance (TA) to health departments (HDs), community-based organizations (CBOs) and their clinical partners around the country, and over 20 years’ experience delivering tailored HIV capacity-building assistance (CBA) services to HDs and their local partners, the Denver Prevention Training Center (PTC) is proud to submit this application for funding to provide CBA services under Component D of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funding opportunity PS-24-0020, Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) for HIV Prevention Programs to End the HIV Epidemic in the United States. To promote and support national prevention goals (including Healthy People 2030, the National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the United States 2022 – 2025, the national Ending the HIV Epidemic in the US [EHE] initiative, and others) through the delivery of CBA services, the Denver PTC will deliver a broad spectrum of targeted HIV TA services to CDC-funded programs and their local partners across the United States and its territories. To achieve these goals, the Denver PTC will deliver a time-phased spectrum of CBA TA services to HDs, CBOs, and their clinical and non-clinical partners across the nation over the course of 5 years, including 1) developing and delivering customized and tailored annual CBA plans; 2) planning and delivering 5 virtual Communities of Practice [CoP]; 3) collaborating with Components D and E and CDC on the planning and pilot of a Syndemic Navigator Academy; 4) collaborating with Components D, E, F, and CDC on the planning of summits for CBOs for Years 2 – 5; 5) delivering a broad range of proactive and reactive CBA TA services, products, resources, and materials; 6) developing HIV prevention tip sheets, infographics, and informational briefs; 7) collaborating with Component E on developing and delivering a workforce development webinar; 8) conducting regular monitoring, evaluation, and reporting; and 9) collaborating with the CBA Provider Network (CPN) on activities and the annual Grantee Meeting for CDC CBA awardee recipients. The Denver PTC will utilize our extensive evaluation expertise to perform ongoing, high-level evaluation on each CBA episode and effort throughout the 5-year funding cycle for both data collection and continuous quality improvement, so that we can best serve the wide range of HDs, CBOs, and their partners with effective TA that meets their needs and advances CDC’s HIV prevention objectives.
