Delaware Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey - This Year 1 project funding will allow for the continuance of the Delaware Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey through the remainder of the grant fiscal year 2024-2025. The BRFSS is an annual telephone-based survey of adults in Delaware ages 18 years and older to help determine the health risks, health conditions, and other health-related information for planning, program implementation and evaluation of effective public health programs. These funds will help ensure that the survey continues to a representative sample size and follows protocols which will result in valid data to help the people of Delaware achieve improved health status. The survey is administered by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Public Health through its Office of Health Education. The Division currently partners with Abt Global, a contracted vendor, to conduct the survey. Abt Global also provides additional analysis with widespread dissemination of the data. Data are used by the Division of Public Health and many fellow state agencies, policy makers, public non-profit organizations and health agencies to plan and evaluate health programs in Delaware. This first year grant budget period is scheduled for 8/1/24 - 7/31/25. This grant budget period is scheduled to consist of continuing data collection, receipt, dissemination, and analyses of the 2024 Delaware BRFS, as well as development and implementation of 2025 Delaware BRFS data collection activities scheduled to begin on, or around, January 1, 2025.
