The Kentucky Perinatal Quality Collaborative (KyPQC) is applying for Component A of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Funding from component A will support increasing KyPQC’s capacity to rapidly conduct population-level perinatal quality improvement (QI) initiatives, with a focus on ensuring an equitable distribution of benefits that make measurable improvements in perinatal healthcare and outcomes for all. The KyPQC will build capacity for equitable perinatal outcomes by focusing project efforts in: (1) increasing implementation of QI initiatives in facilities statewide, including in areas disproportionately impacted by adverse perinatal health outcomes;(2) increasing implementation of QI initiatives to reduce disparities, (3) increasing patient/community engagement in planning and implementing QI initiative to reduce disparities. This work will be completed by hiring a Health Equity Coordinator, hiring a Senior Level Developer with the Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA)to build a KyPQC data portal, and increasing patient/family/community engagement in different capacities of the KyPQC by including these identified persons in KyPQC workgroups, hospital teams, steering committee, etc. Kentucky continues to identify opportunities to address equity by assuring the populations with the most need realize the most benefits, emphasizing the importance of building and reinforcing the infrastructure remains an important priority.
