Bringing Our People Together is a Program proposed by Knik Tribe through The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion:
Tribal Practices for Wellness in Indian Country, CDC-RFA-DP22-2201.
Bringing Our people together will help strengthen Knik Tribe’s commitment to keeping our people physically and Mentally Healthy and help provide Cultural and Traditional activities for Families, the Community, Elders, Youth and Young Adults. Knik Tribe proposes different activities to help bring about this. These programs are; Weekly Talking Circles, Bi-Monthly Drum Nights, Bi-Monthly Craft Nights, Monthly Community Activities, Monthly Young Adult Activities, Monthly Sweat Lodge Ceremony, Elders and Youth conference, and Winter Games. These activities will help with the stated need in our community from our Elders, families and community members. These activities will help our tribal members as well as community members stay active, healthy and promote wellness through Culture, Traditions and Subsistence.
